Ceramic Armour – Aircraft

For aircraft armour, weight and density are the most crucial factors. Our silicon carbide (SiC) and boron (B4C) carbide ceramic armour materials and components are the lightest and most advanced composite materials on the market and are ideally suited for a variety of fixed wing and rotary aircraft.

Our ceramic aircraft armour solutions are tailor made according to customer specifications and provided geometries for seamless integration with other structural and defence systems.  

All components are STANAG accredited and can be supplied as tiles or as complete armoured panels. Our solutions are based on reaction bonding technology. Reaction bonded silicon carbide undergoes minimal dimensional change during sintering. Products exhibit virtually constant strength as temperatures rise to the melting point of silicon. This “net shape” process, allowing for excellent dimensional control, reduces the amount of post firing costly machining and finishing.
