Aztec specialises in the design and manufacture of unique air-cooled (dry-type) minisubs. Below 630kVA we offer both traditional and Vacuum Pressure Impregnated (VPI) transformer technology. From 630kVA all of our transformers are of the exceptional VPI type which is ideally suited to the harsh environments in which our minisubs operate – especially deep underground.

Aztec’s air-cooled transformers and minisubs are all naturally cooled (ANAN) requiring no forced air cooling and no maintenance. Aztec’s unique ANAN transformer and minisub enclosures are IP68 rated thus ensuring that the transformers are protected against water, moisture and dust as well as against physical damage.

All of our air-cooled transformers and minisubs are designed and manufactured in South Africa in accordance with SANS 60076-1.

All of our air-cooled transformers and minisubs are Partial Discharge (PD) tested to ensure the highest level of performance and reliability.
